"Fantastic course! Highly recommended. Very friendly, knowledgeable and down to earth. Had a fantastic afternoon and been totally inspired to forage!"

"Our coastal foraging walk with Josh was a highlight from our trip to St Ives. Josh made it fun and interesting for both the adults and the kids (9 and 13 yrs) in our group as we learned to see our surroundings in a new way. The edible bounty along that one stretch of public footpath was really astonishing"

We're excited to return for another season of foraging school sessions with New Yard Restaurant on the historical Trelowarren estate near Helston.

We'll be running a series of workshops throughout the seasons including a delicious lunch using foraged wild edible plants from the estate.

The 1000 acre estate at Trelowarren is absolutely stunning and host a huge diversity of plant life and different habitats. The courses run on Saturdays, we'll meet in the morning for tea and biscuits before heading out foraging around the estate. I'll introduce you to a variety of plants and show you how to safely and sustainably harvest wild ingredients. We'll look at the historical uses of plants in food & drinks as well as modern cooking techniques.

After the foraging walk we'll head back to the restaurant for lunch. The head chef, Jeff will be there for a chat and serve up a delicious lunch incorporating foraged foods found on the day.

Foraging's part of the routine for these guys. They've got so many amazing wild ingredients growing right on their doorstep. Its a real pleasure to work with them.  Jeff' and his team at New yard are very passionate about high quality, local and sustainable food.

The events are £45 p.p including lunch and run on Saturdays from 10:30- 15:30
